A source who spoke with 9to5Mac revealed that Apple is planning a new crimson color scheme for the iPhone 15 Pro. Ian Zelbo of Renderer Extraordinaire at 9to5Mac made a quick rendering that you can see above. The color itself is a very dark red with the hexadecimal color #410D0D.
The renderings are mostly just to visualize how the new color scheme will look on the iPhone. Apple’s final design will clearly be more refined, and for the standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, our sources say the two color options in testing are light blue and pink. However, the source cautioned that this information is premature and could change as Apple approaches the release of the iPhone 15 in the fall.
It’s especially interesting to see what Apple did with the iPhone 15 Pro color scheme this year. That’s because according to many different rumors, the iPhone 15 Pro will also be made of titanium alloy. Apple has used titanium in its Apple Watch for years, offering “natural” and “deep space black” coatings.
Apple tests a variety of colors before releasing new iphones. Given the transition to titanium, Apple also needs to perfect the coating process. Apple must consider factors such as yield, production time and cost.
For example, there were rumors that the iPhone X would come in gold, but that didn’t happen. However, a few months after the iPhone X was released, leaked images from the FCC showed the unreleased gold iPhone X. This shows how close Apple gets to the release of a new iPhone, it will drop a new iPhone color – especially in years of redesigns or major material changes.
As it stands, however, this deep red color is planned for the iPhone 15 Pro. What do you think? Can you guess Apple’s marketing name? Let us know in the comments.
