Apple's 27-inch iMac supply continues to dwindle, takes two months to receive shipments

According to a report by foreign media macrumors, the current supply of Apple's 27-inch iMac continues to fall as the new iMac takes the world by storm, and current forecasts for mid- to high-end stock configurations have been pushed back to September.

27-inch iMac Delays Shipping

While supplies of 27-inch iMacs have been tight and delivery times have been extended for months, the situation has been worsening lately, with users purchasing 27-inch iMacs having to wait nearly two months to receive them.

The root of all of this lies largely in the news of the iMac's impending release, which in fact dates back to March.

According to tipster CoinX, a new iMac will be released soon. A new 23-inch iMac is due out in the second half of the year, and according to Bloomberg, the iMac, whose name (Mark Gurman) may include a redesign of the iMac, will be released later this year.

With WWDC just around the corner, reports of a new iMac have reinforced the idea that the iMac, which adopts the "iPad Pro design language," will be the only hardware at WWDC. As we all know, WWDC is all about Apple announcing that the Mac will use its own chips, and that it won't be releasing any hardware.

This could be because Apple is moving away from the Mac lineup to Apple processors. Ming Kuo, a well-known analyst, said that the redesigned 24-inch iMac will be Apple's first computer to use Apple processors.

In addition, Kuo also revealed that the Intel processor-based iMacs will be upgraded in the third quarter of this year, which is expected to be completed by the end of September. In fact, we've seen recent Geekbench benchmarks, and it's clear that the iMac is powered by Intel's CometLake-S and AMD's graphics processors.

So when will we see the next update to the iMac? While there's no particularly reliable news, there are rumors that Apple will release Apple processor-based iMacs before the end of the year, and it seems that even now there's only a relatively short update cycle left, unless Apple wants to sell Apple chip-based iMacs and Intel processor-based models.
