After nearly two years of rumors about the fourth-generation iPhone SE, The Information reported today that Apple's suppliers are planning to mass produce the device starting this October.

If this timeline is accurate, then this new iPhone SE will not be announced at the iPhone 16 series launch event in September as expected. Instead, the report speculates that the device could be released before the Lunar New Year in 2025. However, the past three generations of the iPhone SE have been announced in March each year, so a March 2025 release is a fairly likely timeframe as well.
Rumors about the fourth-generation iPhone SE include a 6.1-inch OLED screen, Face ID, a human interface button, and a USB-C port. While the device is expected to resemble the base iPhone 14, the report claims that it may only have one rear camera and may use the same back cover manufacturing process as the iPhone 16.
