"On March 18, the General Office of the National Health Commission on the issuance of the hospital intelligent service grading assessment standard system (for trial implementation) notice.
In accordance with the basic services that should be covered in each segment of the patient's pre-diagnosis, diagnosis and post-diagnosis process, and in conjunction with the hospital's informationization and Internet environment, the Health Commission has identified five categories with a total of 17 assessment items.
In this context, smart hospitals, undoubtedly, have become the theme of the entire healthcare information technology industry in 2019.
This CHIMA conference, was no exception.
"
Every time I attend CHIMA, it is like a happy ordeal. Dazzling enterprise booths, various themes of the sub-forum, so that people unknowingly complete the "slimming plan" of walking 10 miles a day.
On July 5, the 2019 China Hospital Association Information Network Conference (CHIMA 2019) was held in Xiamen as scheduled. Stepping into the exhibition hall from the C4 gate, the publicity slogans related to smart healthcare, smart services and smart hospitals quickly occupy your vision.
Some corporate slogans
Artery network reporter observed that, with the intelligent hospital as the core, in the three major plans of "intelligent medical care", "intelligent service" and "intelligent management", the exhibiting companies, according to their own specialties, have launched relevant products such as medical record quality control, intelligent wards and intelligent service solutions. According to their own specialties, the exhibiting companies have launched relevant products such as quality control of medical records, smart wards, and smart service solutions.
A person in charge of Jiahe Meikang told us, "Under the general trend of intelligent hospital construction, the company's intelligent medical record internal quality control system and CDSS products are classified under intelligent medical care, while Mobile Rui Internet hospital solutions and cloud medical records are classified under intelligent services. And the company is actively making preparations for the declaration of smart service assessment cases at level 0-5."
Medical Lijie, which started out as an electronic medical record company, has also been influenced by the demand for interoperability maturity assessment of smart hospitals, and has shifted its business focus to hospital information integration platforms.
It is foreseeable that in the next few years, the construction of medical informatization with smart hospitals as the core will also deeply affect the business direction of a large number of medical informatization companies.
Medical IoT companies becoming C-suite?
At CHIMA 2019, we can clearly notice that among the 150 exhibitors, a group of healthcare IoT companies, including Lianxin, Oncor, Honeywell, and Lianzhong Wisdom, are gradually occupying the C-suite under the construction of smart hospitals.
In April 2019, the official interpretation meeting of the Health Commission gave a preview of the rating standard corresponding to "intelligent management", which is expected to be introduced in 2019, according to some experts. The so-called "intelligent management" usually involves the management of hospital drugs, consumables, test reagents, medical waste, and materials such as patient clothing, and even the management of water, electricity and gas in hospital logistics.
Some companies involved in the business of healthcare IoT
The sales staff of Lianzhong Wisdom told Arterial Net reporter: "Under the environment of smart hospital construction, Lianzhong Wisdom, as a representative of medical software enterprises, has also begun to focus on pushing smart wards and smart nursing-related medical IoT products this year." This shows that medical IoT enterprises are expected to become one of the main beneficiaries in the construction of smart hospitals.
Smart Clinical Remains a Hot Spot
In 2019, clinical informatization is also an area of constant saber-rattling. Taking the giant Neusoft as an example, based on its existing specialty portfolio, Neusoft is making scenario-oriented disease solutions and has established 12 product lines.
These 12 clinical medical business lines are subdivided into two major domains: one is the diagnostic domain, such as testing, radiology, ultrasound, pathology, endoscopy, nuclear medicine, electrophysiology, etc.; and the other is the therapeutic domain, such as anesthesia and perioperative medicine, critical care medicine, dialysis, and interventions.
Especially in the field of hand anesthesia and critical care, according to the response of industry insiders, this year's competition is very fierce. Dasher Jusen, which can be seen at the entrance of the conference, is focusing on the promotion of its intelligent operating room and critical care related products.

Others, such as MediTech and Hengxin Tianlang, are also representative companies of critical care systems and digital operating rooms at the show.
In 2018, the 2017-2018 Survey Report on the State of China's Hospital Informatization launched by the Information Management Professional Committee of the China Hospital Association surveyed the current application of clinical systems in hospitals of all levels.
According to the data, pathology, hand anesthesia and other systems in domestic tertiary hospitals have not been applied more than 40%. hospitals below the third level are even less than 20%. In the next few years, the intelligent clinical market will usher in a period of rapid growth.

None of the mainstream AI companies are absent
In the theme academic report session of the conference, for the status of the application of artificial intelligence technology in the medical industry and the key, Professor Zhang Cymbal, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences and director of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence at Tsinghua University, made a detailed introduction.
Academician Zhang Cymbal pointed out that the application of AI in healthcare is mainly concentrated in the fields of smart hospitals, auxiliary medicine, virtual care, etc. One of the focuses of the application is to establish a human-computer collaborative medical and healthcare system with mutual trust and safety, and to provide safe, trustworthy, reliable and efficient AI technology.
He emphasized that AI technology will change the whole shape of medicine, and the key point of application is that the issue of mutual trust must be resolved to build a credible and explainable healthcare system. At the same time, he also called out that it is crucial for medical staff to be involved in valuing the application of AI in the healthcare industry.

As the saying goes, "Big AI has no boundaries", compared with last year, Arterial Network saw more enterprises engraved the words "AI" and "intelligence" on their booths. These enterprises not only include startups such as PUSHING TECHNOLOGY and HUI MEDICAL HUI SHADOW that originated from AI; they also include innovative enterprises such as HUI MEDICAL, BIG NUMBER MEDICAL, SENYI INTELLIGENCE and so on, which are advancing from informatization to AI technology, and there are also quite a number of large-scale informatization enterprises that put AI on their strategic maps.
As a whole, these technologies contain two directions: serving the construction of smart hospitals and serving the construction of hospital data centers.
Taking Conjecture Technology and Huimedhui Shadow as an example, these two imaging-based AI head enterprises are turning their attention to the processing of medical imaging big data, providing hospitals with AI data quality control, imaging cloud platform, assisted diagnosis and other businesses while building a scientific research platform to provide doctors with scientific research assistance services, enriching the connotation of smart hospitals.
Conceptualize Technology and WuiMed Photo Booth
Due to the natural disconnect between the two fields of medicine and computers, it is difficult for doctors to work on computers and for programmers to overcome medical problems. But the research market is here, precisely because both directions are difficult, as long as one party is willing to break through the barriers, will certainly be able to reap huge benefits, which is exactly the logic of AI enterprises.
Why does everyone do research platforms?
One reason is that high scoring SCI papers all require huge datasets;
Second, because the accumulation of a large amount of knowledge literature requires newer data processing tools to access the knowledge base.
These are the real needs of doctors, and not only are companies more likely to reap the rewards of the right medicine, but the contacts and data harvested over the same period are also a major motivation for companies.
Another trend was the upgrading of voice interaction technology within departments, a technology primarily used by physicians. Judging from the scene, there was a steady stream of people at booths offering voice-based AI products.
However, AI speech technology is affected by professional vocabulary, department, accent and many other factors. For the problems caused by these factors, CloudSense has created a "universal database + personalized database" dual database combination of solutions to ensure the generality of AI technology at low cost while ensuring the quality of speech recognition.
In contrast, AiMedSound directly builds different voice interaction systems according to different departments, such as perioperative intelligent interaction system, nurse station intelligent interaction system, doctor's station intelligent interaction system, etc., directly hitting specific scenes.

In addition, many specialty-specific disease scenarios have also seen the emergence of AI, such as prescription/medical prescription front, real-time auditing, and oncology surgical navigation ...... Of course, there are many other medical scenarios that will undergo intelligent transformation under the trend of smart healthcare.
When you look at the construction of next-generation hospital data centers, natural semantic processing (NLP) has become a core strength to support the construction.
Looking back to last year's CHIMA, the mention of AI-based CDSS system only appeared in a few enterprises such as Senyi Intelligence, Huiji Medical, etc., but now almost all exhibitors use AI-enabled CDSS. of course, there are still big differences in the databases behind different enterprises.

This trend is not unrelated to the Circular on Further Promoting the Informatization of Medical Institutions with Electronic Medical Records as the Core issued by the Medical Affairs Bureau of the National Health Commission. The issuance of this notice means that the level of CDSS in hospitals will be linked to the rating of hospitals (HIMSS, grading evaluation of electronic medical records), and hospital performance appraisal.
Extended by NLP, another application scenario lies in the quality control of information, of which the more widespread application is the quality control of medical cases, and behind the development of this segment is a huge demand for talents.
On the one hand, the quality control of the case has a very high demand on the ability of the quality control staff, qualified quality control staff need to have a clinical background - West China Hospital quality control job recruitment announcement requires candidates to have a "master's degree or above", "clinical medicine and related professional background". Clinical medicine and related professional background". Such recruitment requirements are not low, even higher than the recruitment requirements of clinical departments in many urban hospitals. In the context of China's serious shortage of medical resources, excellent clinical students can not meet the clinical needs, leaving the clinical full-time quality control, both the management and the doctors themselves are difficult to accept.
On the other hand, a case can be tens to hundreds of pages long, manual quality control takes a lot of time, and even experienced physicians can hardly find out the errors from a large amount of information in a short time, and many errors need to be found out by the quality control personnel by contacting all parts of the case, which undoubtedly puts forward a very high demand on the quality control personnel's ability in all aspects.
Therefore, the intervention of artificial intelligence has undoubtedly solved a big problem for hospitals. However, from the quality point of view, the existing AI case quality control products are mainly used for gender error correction, language disease error correction, inconsistent before and after history and other information correction, to realize the unattended case quality control, artificial intelligence undoubtedly still has a long way to go.
Compared to last year's CHIMA, AI is making a lot more of an appearance. However, from the current point of view, these changes have not yet brought large-scale efficiency improvement for hospitals. This indicates that the maturity of AI products still needs to be improved and the application scenarios of AI need to be expanded.
"Star flavor" is a little bland.
Perhaps the attraction to foreign enterprises is not enough, CHIMA 2019 appearance of "foreign" enterprises only a few. In the main venue, we only found the French Nexans, Dell, GE Healthcare and other companies.
Among them, Nexans exhibited its hospital integrated cabling system, while Dell displayed products such as modern data center solutions. Both companies are more oriented to infrastructure construction, and their products did not involve the application level.
Nexans and Dell booths in France
And the smart device management system that GE Healthcare is showcasing is actually nothing new. It was reported by Artery.com back in 2018. Under the theme of smart hospitals, this product is also naturally categorized by it under the category of smart management.

In addition to the "foreign flavor" is not enough, the "star flavor" is also slightly bland. The first echelon of medical informatization enterprises such as Neusoft, Weining, Venture, Medical Benefit, etc., are not seen. Artery network speculation, it is estimated that CHIMA and June Xi'an that information technology conference time is too close to each other.
A look at the trends of this conference shows that the construction of smart hospitals, mainly the wisdom of information data, so that inanimate objects can convey information, followed by the expansion of the scope of intelligent assistance. Intelligent assistance, CDSS, in the early years was only for medical and technical departments. And now, it is gradually expanding to clinical specialty specialties. In the future, there is also an opportunity to expand to the logistics of human, financial and material management.
Data, is becoming more and more important. Because either evolution is based on data.CDSS wants data, AI imaging wants data, IoT generates data and uses data. No data, no intelligence.
