If you're serious, then you've probably at least read this book when you were thinking about building your own computer, and I hope it has inspired you to continue with the project. Throughout, we've tried to steer you clear of some of the pitfalls and warn you of some of the safety issues involved, so there's no doubt that we've overemphasized the dangers and difficulties. Soothingly, it's hard to hurt yourself building a computer, and most people don't burn out any parts on their first build. With a little planning, anyone with access to a screwdriver can build a computer.

The computer you build will always mean a little more to you than the one you buy, not least because you designed it yourself and will no doubt upgrade it from time to time over the coming years. You'll see a contented smile creeping up your face every time you press the power button, and I think you'll find that smile an adequate reward for your time and effort.

Finally, if you use it and build your own PC, you're bound to come across something we've missed here; a problem we didn't anticipate, something we forgot to mention, or some recent change. If you'd like, please come back here to add to or change the book. You don't have to know everything to contribute; only one thing is true. If this guide has helped you, then consider it a reward.
