The hottest game of late is surely Cyberpunk 2077, right? This sci-fi themed near-future RPG made a splash before it was even released with the outstanding performance of its predecessor, The Witcher 3, capturing the attention of countless viewers over and over again. After its release, it even recouped all of its costs on the first day, setting a record of over a million people playing online on Steam's single-player game!

Cyberpunk 2077 is very hot, but the quality is underwhelming
However, Cyberpunk 2077's word of mouth fell off after its release. Expectations were high for it, but the game had a lot of problems, most notably a lot of bugs and crummy optimization. If you're using mainstream configured hardware, such as a $10+ million dollar graphics card, it's hard to get a smooth experience; if you're using older hardware, such as a CPU from a few years ago, you'll run into a lot of unexplainable bugs!
Cyberpunk 2077 flopped badly and many gamers were tossed for a loop. Based on the experience with The Witcher 3, CDPR will officially fix the problem in a subsequent patch, but things are far from over. What can be done to save it before the full fix patch is officially released? There are also developers who have made optimization tools for Cyberpunk 2077 and made them open-source on GitHub, which has been well received! Come on over and check it out, folks.
Cyber Engine Tweaks:https://github.com/yamashi/PerformanceOverhaulCyberpunk
As the name suggests, this is a tool used to tweak the Cyberpunk 2077 engine. It's very simple to use, find the download address in the "Release" section, download the corresponding zip archive, and then unzip it and place the files in the following directory.
Game installation directory / bin/x64/
Then run the game and the tool will take effect.
Before using this tool, we of course need to understand what it actually does and how it tweaks Cyberpunk 2077. Here are some instructions from the official Cyber EngineTweaks to tweak on Cyberpunk 2077.
official account
- AMD SMT multithreading Sebopack2077 is poorly optimized for AMD CPUs, one of the problems is that it can only call the physical cores of the AMD CPU and does not recognize the logical cores, thus preventing the game from calling the AMD CPU's hyperthreads. This tool fixes this bug and allows the game to call AMD CPU's SMT hyperthreads to more fully utilize the hardware performance. (Enabled by default)
- One of the problems with AVXSebopack2077 is that some CPUs that don't support the AVX instruction set may crash and so on when running games, this tool fixes that. (Enabled by default)
- Debug menu for debugging. This tool allows the player to open the in-game Debug debugging menu to implement some modifications, cheats, etc. (End of preset)
- Customize the memory pool. You can increase memory usage, or customize memory and video memory limits. (Enabled by default, CPU memory pool is limited to 50% by default)
- Ghost Vulnerability. This is a vulnerability in Intel CPUs that the system fixes with a patch, but it affects performance. For gaming, this fix patch is meaningless, this tool removes the effects of the patch and improves the performance of the Intel CPU. (Enabled by default)
- It is possible to make the game support more game input devices, such as input from the Steam controller.
- Skips the start menu. Will skip the main menu that requires pressing the spacebar to continue. (On by default)
- Remove pedestrians and vehicles. Most of the pedestrians and vehicles on the road can be removed, reducing the performance burden and significantly improving the frame rate. It should be noted, however, that this feature must be used with care! The archive is executed even when this feature is turned on, and the read archive setting remains in effect even if this feature is turned off or even if the tool is deleted. (Preset off)
- Disable asynchronous computing. Can improve the performance of some older graphics cards (e.g. NV 10XX series cards) (off by default).
- Disable TAA anti-aliasing. TAA antialiasing can be turned off to improve performance. (Off by default)
- If you wish to set up the tool manually, you can go to the following directory and open the config.json configuration file with Notepad to make changes.
Game installation directory / bin/x64/plugins/cyber_engine_tweaks/config.json

Contents of the configuration file
true=On
false=closed
cpu_memory_pool_fraction=CPU memory pool 1.0=100% 0.5=50% and so on
gpu_memory_pool_fraction=GPU memory pool 1.0 = 100% 0.5 = 50% and so on
And to remove the tool, just delete the following files and directories.
Game installation directory / bin/x64/version.dll
Game installation directory / bin/x64/plugins/
All in all, this is really quite a useful tool for Cyberpunk 2077 players. If you are experiencing a lot of problems with your Cyberpunk 2077 game, try to optimize the game with this tool. Meanwhile, I hope that CDPR will release the patch patch soon and finish the unfinished parts, the content now is still quite far from the promo of Cyberpunk 2077, so don't let the fans get cold feet!
