Despite the current Kirin 9000 shortage, it doesn't seem to be affecting Huawei's efforts to update its P-series models early next year, with Samsung Korea saying that Samsung Display and LG Display have OLED screens ready for the new Huawei P50 series models, according to Korean media reports.
Sources say that the Huawei P50 is slated for production, but there is no firm word on the key processor side of the equation yet, as the supply chain in South Korea is only supplying the screen side of the demand.
In terms of timing, the new Huawei P50 series will be expected to continue to carry the Kirin 9000 processor, in addition to a significant improvement in the lens compared to the previous generation, and the exterior design will be more fashionable and trendy.
According to past practice, next March-April, Huawei Mate series and P series will launch dual flagship models, which is a traditional timing.
