Apple's new iPad Air4 confirmed with 4GB of RAM

The A14 bionic chip in this iPad Air, which was revealed over the weekend, is performing well, and also revealed another piece of news: Apple's latest tablet has 4 GB of RAM.

The new iPad Air, while having 1 GB more RAM than the previous generation iPad Air, has less RAM than the iPad Pro. iPad Pro model 2020 both have 6 GB of RAM.

There's an interesting pattern of iPad Air1 1G/iPad Air2 2G/iPad Air3 3G/iPad Air4 4G.

Because of the impressive RAM and performance of the A14 chip, the new generation of iPads is faster than the previous generation of Airs, along with an all-screen design and Touch ID power button.

The exposed A14 iPad Air Geekbench score shows a single-core score of 1583 and a multi-core score of 4198, which is a significant improvement over the third generation's 1112 single-core score and 2832 runtime.

It's also worth noting that score tests have shown significant speed improvements in other devices with the A14 chip (such as the iPhone 12 series). The A14 is an improvement in both performance and efficiency, and it's Apple's first 5-nanometer chip.

While no specific launch date has been announced, Apple plans to unveil the next-generation iPad - the Air - sometime in October.
