September 6, 2011 - The new Huawei Y9a has been quietly announced, an improved version of the Enjoy 20 Plus that was launched in China not long ago.

The Huawei Y9a features a 6.63-inch FHD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) IPS LCD panel on the front with a screen size of 92% and no bangs or perforations due to the fact that the phone's 16-megapixel selfie camera sits in a pop-up module.

While the Enjoy 20 Plus is powered by MediaTek's Tiangui 720 processor, Huawei's Y9a handset comes with a MediaTek G80 SoC processor, depending on the region of sale, paired with 6 GB/8 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128 GB of UFS 2.1 storage. If necessary, storage can be further expanded via Huawei's proprietary NMSD card.
The camera on the back of this machine is designed from the Huawei Mate30 Pro, but with a different sensor. The device comes with a 64-megapixel primary camera with an 8-megapixel 120° ultra-wide angle, a 2-megapixel depth sensor and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. Compare this to the Enjoy 20 Plus, which has a triple camera setup of a 48-megapixel main camera + 8-megapixel ultra wide angle + 2-megapixel macro.

The phone runs Android 10 based EMUI 10.1 with HMS (Huawei Mobile Services) which supports all the sensors like gyroscope, compass, gravity sensor, ambient light sensor, and side fingerprint sensor.
In terms of connectivity and ports, the device supports 4 G LTE, dual-band WiFi5, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS,3.5 mm headphone jack and USBType-C port. Additionally, the model will run on a 4200 mAh battery with support for 40 W fast charging in select countries in the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia. Other regions will use a 4200 mAh battery with only 22.5 W fast charging support.
It measures 163.5 x 76.5 x 8.95 mm and weighs 197 g. It is understood that the model will be available in three colors - Space Silver, Cherry Blossom Pink, and Midnight Black - and Huawei has yet to announce the model's price and availability.
