In response to the U.S. Department of Commerce's further escalation of its ban on Huawei, spokesman Zhao Lijian said at today's (18th) regular press conference of China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs that China resolutely opposes the U.S. side's deliberate smearing and suppression of Huawei and other Chinese enterprises. For some time now, the U.S. side, without any real evidence, has generalized the concept of national security, abused the power of the state, and taken all kinds of restrictive measures against Huawei and other Chinese companies, which is a naked hegemonic act. It must be emphasized that what the United States side has done has completely pierced the shroud of the market economy and the principle of fair competition that the United States side has always boasted of, violating the rules of international trade and destroying the global industrial chain, supply chain and value chain, which will also surely damage the national interests of the United States and its own image.
Zhao Lijiang stressed that the more hysterical the U.S. suppression of Chinese companies such as Huawei is, the more it proves the success of these companies and the more it proves the U.S. hypocrisy and hegemony. Historically, successful companies from many other countries have had similar encounters. This dishonorable practice by the United States has been and will continue to be widely opposed and resisted by other countries.
The U.S. side accuses Huawei of threatening U.S. national security, but the facts prove that over the past 30 years, Huawei has built more than 1,500 networks in more than 170 countries and regions around the world, provided services to 228 of the world's top 500 companies, and served more than 3 billion people around the globe, and has not had a single cybersecurity incident similar to the Snowden Incident or the WikiLeaks Incident. "WikiLeaks" network security incident, did not occur a similar "Prism Gate", "Formula Organization", "Echelon System" network eavesdropping surveillance There has not been a single case of cyber surveillance like "Prismgate," "Formula One," or "Echelon Systems," nor has any country been able to produce evidence of a backdoor in Huawei products.
The United States is the largest veritable hacker empire on the planet. Cisco, Apple and other United States companies admitted several years ago that their devices have security holes and back doors. It is an open fact that the United States intelligence services have long been carrying out indiscriminate and illegal wiretapping and eavesdropping activities against foreign Governments, enterprises and individuals, including allies, and that there are basically no secrets to speak of, including the United States' own citizens. We urge the U.S. side to immediately correct its mistakes, stop slandering and smearing China, and stop suppressing Chinese enterprises. The Chinese Government will continue to take necessary measures to safeguard the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of Chinese enterprises.
