Intellectual property data released by the State Intellectual Property Office shows that in the first half of 2020, the domestic (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) invention patent authorization volume ranked the top 3 enterprises, in order: Huawei Technologies Co Ltd (2772), OPPO Guangdong Mobile Communications Co Ltd (1925), BOE Technology Group Co Ltd (1432).
In the first half of 2020, China applied for 68.3 invention patents, of which 21.7 patents were authorized; the number of domestic invention patents authorized was 176,000 pieces. The research and development strength and innovation level of enterprises are fully reflected in the number of invention patent authorizations
By the end of June 2020, the effective number of domestic invention patents was 1.996 million (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan), and the number of invention patents per 10,000 people was 14.3 pieces. In the first half of this year, the top 3 provinces in the country in terms of the number of invention patents per 10,000 people were Beijing (141.5), Shanghai (56.1) and Jiangsu (31.9) respectively.
In the first half of this year, the total number of trademark registrations in China was 428.4, and the total number of trademark registrations was 262.9; in terms of geographical indications, the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) approved a total of 322 enterprises using the special sign for geographical indications, and approved the registration of 364 geographical indications trademarks. In IC design enterprises, there were 5,176 registered IC design enterprises, an increase of 78.2% over the previous year; 5,262 pieces of licenses were issued, an increase of 111.6%.
