Redmi 9 photo review

From an entry-level perspective, the Redmi 9's camera performance is noteworthy, especially the rear ultra-wide-angle lens, which is rare at the same price point, and can definitely play with some of the mid-range models now.

Redmi 9 performance score

Redmi 9 is powered by MediaTek HelioG80 chip which does not support 5 G network and is made based on 12 nm process with two CortexA75 at 2 GHz for the big cores, 6 A55 at 1.8 GHz for the small cores, Mali-G52MC2 at 950 MHz for the GPU along with HyperEngine gaming engine.

Redmi 9 AnTuTu score
Redmi 9 AnTuTu score

Compared to the HelioG85-powered Redmi 10 X 4 G version, the G80 just has a lower frequency on the GPU and basically the same CPU architecture, while the performance gap between the two is very small in terms of the parameters on paper.
After actual testing, Redmi9's AnTuTu score is 200732, of which the CPU score is 74143 and the GPU score is 42940. Although the gap with the mid-range 5 G SoC in the most recent test is not big, but it can definitely be called a mid-range chip when placed in the 4 G.

The Redmi 9 should use eMMC flash memory, which is divided into 12052 storage.

Does Redmi 9 play games with lag

Open the King's Honor, default effects are all high/ultra-high, Redmi9 is basically no lag, although in the group battle there will be dropped frames, but the overall stay above 40 FPS.

Redmi 9 King's Honor real test

Two years ago, it would have been hard to imagine the entry-level machine being able to play Honor of Kings with high image quality and high frame rates, although the Redmi 9, equipped with the HelioG80, which is a purported gaming chip, does achieve that level of performance, and deserves some credit for that.

Redmi 9 charging range

The Redmi 9 comes with a 5,020mAh battery and we briefly tested its battery life performance using videos and games.

We test beep on 1080P quality, WiFi, brightness 50%, volume defaults 30 minutes Redmi 9 consumes 5% of power

King's honor default picture quality, WiFi, brightness 50%, volume default in the case of 30 minutes of power consumption 10%

Redmi 9 charging test

Redmi 9 supports 18W wired fast charging, but the one that comes with the package is only a 10W charger, the 18W charger needs to be purchased separately, here we only test the speed of the 10W charger, connecting to Wi-Fi and recording every 10 minutes. After testing, the Redmi 9 took 160 minutes to fill the 5020mAh battery, if you have requirements for charging speed, we recommend buying an 18W charger on your own.
