Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 phone exterior design leaked

Samsung will add the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 to its foldable lineup this year. The phones are rumored to bring some major upgrades, including a water drop hinge design that will eventually allow Samsung’s foldable phones to fold seamlessly, leaving no gaps on the sides.

For the Galaxy Z Flip 5, there are also rumours of a significantly larger cover screen. The first Z Flip model had a tiny 1.1-inch screen, while the two later models (the Z Flip 3 and Z Flip 4) had a 1.9-inch cover screen. It’s not a big upgrade, but it goes some way to making the cover screen more useful, and it’s a big improvement over the original Galaxy Z Flip.

Recent concept drawings and videos suggest that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will have a larger and fancier external screen that starts next to the rear lens, like a folder shape on a PC. According to leaker SuperRoader, the design is “20,000% real” and sources have confirmed that the concept is very accurate because they have a model based on the actual design. The Z Flip 5’s external display area will cover as much space as possible, allowing us to do more without unrolling the phone. This will make it easier for the rear camera to take high-quality selfies, and tasks like checking notifications and responding to messages should be easier.

The exact size of the external screen is currently uncertain, but from what we know, it will be between 3 and 4 inches, although if we’re taking a guess based on the Galaxy Z Flip 4’s size, it might skew toward the lower end.

There is no information yet on whether the main foldable display will bring any changes. The drop hinge should reduce the visibility of the crease, but at this time there is no firm news. Still, given that this is Samsung, we should soon see the gap in our knowledge of the Z Flip 5’s specs and features start to close, as more rumors and leaked ways are popping up online, so stay tuned!
